2025 Fashion Trend Forecast
New YEar, new trends
I hope you had a great holiday season and are easing into the new year and new responsibilities it may bring. I don’t know about you, but one thing I’m looking forward to is what this new year might bring in terms of FASHION!! There’s talks of a popular influencing app going away, and with that my curiosity of how fashion trends are going to be passed along is increasing. So I’ve done my digging ahead of time! This month’s article is all about our 2025 Fashion Trend Forecast- what’s in, what’s out, what should we keep an eye out for, it’s all here in this article!
Vibrant Colors + Monochromatic Looks:
To start off this year’s fashion trend forecast, we'll start with colors. From my research, I’m expecting vibrant colors and monochromatic looks from head to toe. We’re talking matching sets, mixings of shades/tones, anything goes. I’m imagining cute but comfortable combinations, some chic touches to rather casual styled outfits. I love this option because its realistic. I don’t know about you, but carrying kids around while wearing tight jeans, and heels is so hard for me- but that’s always how I feel good + put together. These broad suggestions really help me to explore more options to be mobile yet still look presentable. It really helped me get my wheels turning on what I can use that is already in my closet!
Overall Aesthetics:
I’m predicting that we are going to start transitioning from very minimalistic styles to more elevated minimalist and maximalist styles. Layering accessories, lots of bracelets and necklaces. I also think that mixing metals might be making a comeback! Silver or gold no longer, you can do both. Embrace it! Loaded accessories is kind of exciting to me because it poses a slight challenge, how can I maximize my accessories but still be chic? I think I’m going to like that game and will keep you posted on what proves success. I think I’ll start with jewelry and see where I can go from there.
Personality Pieces:
Along with this transition from minimalist to maximalist, I think we’ll see a lot more personality pieces to help create the sense of elevated minimalism. People might start adding personal touches, such as scarfs, bandanas, fun printed hoodies to outfits because with elevated minimalism comes opportunity to explore and get creative. I loved our days of minimalism however I believe it got to the point that everyone was wearing the same structured outfits. Here comes fun and flare! I’ve seen an increase of people getting together with thier girls and embroidering sweatshirts with fun personal touches like names, monograms, favorite animals ect. This could be a fun idea to add a personalized item to your wardrobe!
Vintage, Resale and Eco Conscious Fashion:
With these personality pieces coming into play, I’m predicting that vintage pieces are going to start coming into the picture. People could start purchasing items that speak to them and their style, while also being eco-friendly. I’ve seen a lot more negative publicity surrounding shopping “fast fashion” vendors such as Shein, TJ Maxx and stores that turn and burn merchandise. With this I believe that naturally people will turn to second hand + vintage outfitters, as they are not only a better opportunity environmentally, but also support smaller businesses and sometimes offer more character than current outfitters. As you can see in the inspo pictures, lots of lighter denim, with layered cloth fabrics up top. Sweater vests and vests are back! I’m obsessed with these looks, the options are truly endless with them. One combo you wear one day, could be totally flip flopped into another look the next day! I also love that it allows people to show off cool, unique finds!
There you have it!
There it is friends. This is what i’m predicting for our 2025 fashion trend forecast. Lots of vintage, thrifting, chic street styles, bold and personal prints + colors. I like the flexibility this brings to the table. Fashion is about expressing YOU- so these forecasts really allow us to do that. Let me know what you think, any hot takes you might have or any fun new trends you might like! I’ll be on the lookout now for the next hot topics and as always will keep you in the loop. Stay warm everyone! Catch you next month.
