Shoes of the Summer

Summer is here! Kids are home and Mom mode is on level 100! I hope y'all are getting to relax, travel, or whatever it is you love to do. I also hope that you are getting to spend time with the family, as well as spending time with yourselves! This summer heat has officially gotten to me and my kids, who are already hitting the mid-summer slump. They’re “bored” and constantly poking me about when I can drive them to and from friends' houses and social outings. When running from drop off to drop off, I realized I have officially blown through last year's tennis shoes and so began the rabbit hole for what summer shoe trends we are going to see this year. Here’s what I’ve found:

AllBIrd Tennis shoes

Let’s start with practical: everyday tennis shoes. AllBird has been jumping to the top of the pack in the everyday shoe industry. They are known for their comfort, versatility, sustainable materials, breathability, and their easy ability to slide on and off. They offer a variety of styles and colors, from active shoes, to slip ons, to even hiking shoes. AllBirds are simple in design, utilizing neutral colorways and softer texture fabrics, making them easy to dress up or down. Price wise they are easily comparable with the average tennis shoe price, and range from around $85-$140 depending on the style. Another plus is that you can get a 30 day trial and return them if you aren’t satisfied with them. These are on the top of my list for their comfort and versatility.

Veja SNeakers

Also practical, but easy to throw on for dressier outings, the Veja Campo shoe is the perfect combination of stylish, put together and comfortable. With TONS of other styles of Vejas to comb through they will definitely have something for you, even if it's not necessarily the Campo style shoe. The perfect shoe for a sundress, pants, denim, whatever it is. Also practical for those on their feet everyday. Vejas also come in a variety of options, have years in the industry and are sourced with ethics in the forefront, which is always a plus. A pricier option but from the research I’ve done is worth every penny! With hundreds of colorways and styles to choose from you are bound to find something perfect for you and your style needs!

Ballet Flats

On a more stylish side of shoes, ballet flats are dominating this year’s summer season. A more versatile and comfortable option than heels, ballet flats keep you up looking put together without the blisters, foot aches and fear of rolling your ankle when towing around children and all the bags that come with that. Dress them up with a cute ankle length dress, or throw them on with jeans and hit the road. I love these because of the variety of style options, you can find professional, casual, seasonal and then just the plain jane go with everything options.

Slide On Sandals

Alongside ballet flats, simple slides on sandals are still taking reign this summer. Another easy, versatile option to throw in the rotation to ensure you're comfortable, but not going to be held back in the marathon of being a mother. With MANY options to choose from you can find a pair perfect for you but I’ll list some of my favorites below as well to make your lives easier.
