Fashion Trends To Complete Your Back-To-School Outfits
As we find ourselves in the middle of August, it is officially what we consider “back to school time.” Whether you are a faculty or staff member, or a student, this time may be especially difficult for you to say goodbye to summer break and hello to a new schedule full of new classes and new opportunities. The best, and my favorite part, of this time of year, is the outfits! Today, I will share with you all some of my favorite fashion trends that I hope will get you excited about starting school.
Let’s start simple. Your question may be “what if I have to wear a uniform?” That is a great point, and definitely a common dilemma one may face while trying to show off their style. However, don’t let your uniform be an obstacle! Show off your personality with fun shoes or jewelry.
Trendy shoes:
Some of the most loved shoes this year have been Nike Air Force 1s, platform Converse hightops, New Balance 574s, Dr Marten platform boots, Vans slip-on sneakers and Steve Madden sandals. These shoes can truly be worn with anything at essentially any time of the year! Investing in a few pairs of great trendy shoes before the school year begins is the best way to start off!
Fun pieces to spice up your uniform:
Layered dainty jewelry – To follow your school handbook (if applicable) you can never go wrong with a few pieces of dainty gold or silver jewelry. A classic go-to piece is your initial and maybe a small stone or two. This is sure to make your plain uniform into a cute outfit for school. This can even apply to those in the workforce as well! As long as your supervisors approve, you can’t go wrong with a few cute pieces of jewelry.
Rings
One of the biggest fashion trends this year has been stackable rings. Especially with the complement of your necklaces, rings can quickly make any uniform show your personality more.
There are many different options for this depending on your price range, but rings are best to invest in because of how often you would wear them and the amount of water and other things they endure. Back-to-school season might be a tough time for some, so treat yourself with a beautiful set of rings to make you happier this school season!
Earrings
Some schools have guidelines to a certain amount of earrings you are able to wear, so definitely make sure with your school before allowing your child, or yourself, to go to school with unpermitted jewelry! One fashion trend of the year has been small hoops, specifically gold. A perfect example of this trend is Hailey Bieber. She has rocked the slick back bun hairstyle and gold hoops for years now, and it has taken the world by storm with the rise of gold hoops. Something that seems so simple is actually a big difference maker in your outfit!
Okay, so what if you don’t have a school uniform requirement? Here are some ideas for you to look good and feel good this school year with these fashion trends.
Flowy Tops:
Whether you have a strict dress code, or a more lenient one, flowy tops might just be your best friend this year! The first few months of the school year are definitely the warmest, especially down here in the south, so any flowy top is ideal. If your school is lenient on dress requirements, you may even be able to wear off-the-shoulder tops. This way, you feel very casual but look put together and cute! Pair the off-the-shoulder top with a great pair of jeans and sandals and you have a fantastic outfit for school, while staying with the current fashion trends.
Button-up top
One of the hottest fashion trends this year, and especially this summer, has been a button-up shirt. It is super light-weight, casual and sophisticated at the same time. This semi “preppy” look would be complete with a casual pair of jeans or trousers. Another big fashion trend this year has been wide-legged pants, which would be perfect with a button-up top.
And of course, I could not leave out the athleisure wear. This will probably be your most worn style, because it is exactly what it’s called: leisure! This means it’s made to be comfortable and multifunctional. One of the biggest fashion trends is oversized tees with jeans or leggings, because of how comfy and cute it is! Going to school or work can make for some long weeks, so you definitely want to feel comfortable while there.
