My Favorite Looks From The 94th Academy Awards

From custom Valentino to Gucci, there were plenty of beautiful looks captured from the 94th Academy Awards that took place last night in Los Angeles, California. Here are some of my favorite looks in no particular order!

1. Saniyya Sidney

At only 15 years old, Saniyya Sidney channeled an Old Hollywood Glam look with her colorful Giorgio Armani Privé gown and classic updo. “I love old Hollywood fashion. Dorothy Dandridge and Audrey Hepburn are my big style icons. To me they represent elegance and pure beauty,” Sidney said in a Vanity Fair interview.

2. Stephanie Beatriz

Well known for her voice of Mirabel in Disney’s film Encanto, which took home the Best Animated Film award, Stephanie Beatriz stunned the red carpet with an all-black look. The Dior Haute Couture one sleeved gown was beautiful, along with eye-catching dangled earrings by Chopard jewels. “…that’s how I feel when I wear Dior: like a magical transformation has taken place,” she shared with InStyle. She also noted that every single pleat in the gown was made by hand in the Atelier in Paris. She felt special in the dress because the dress was made so special!

3. Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner is an actress that is not at all new to the red carpet scene but made a surprise appearance last night at her first award show in two years. Garner was not up for an Oscar, but she recently debuted a Netflix film called The Adam Project and was selected to present one of the awards. She stepped on the carpet in a red Brandon Maxwell gown that perfectly draped off of her shoulders. Along with sparkly ruby and diamond accessories from Nikos Koulis to complete the look, this was one of my favorites. I loved seeing how effortlessly beautiful she looked.

4. Tati Gabrielle

Tati Gabrielle truly made her Oscar’s debut with a remarkable look from head to toe. Her hairstyle was a classy blond braided bob which was so pretty and completed the look. It really went well with her off-the-shoulder Hellessey gown, which was crafted using TENCEL’s botanic origin and biodegradable quality fabrics. In an interview with Natasha Bird from Elle, Gabrielle states her gown gives off “very old Hollywood vibes,” and she is exactly right. With a flowy gown made from wood that can be naturally broken down, Gabrielle made a long-lasting statement on the red carpet.

5. Zendaya

This was a fun look from Zendaya. Many people quickly noticed the comparison between Zendaya’s look and actress Sharon Stone’s look from the 1998 Academy Awards. The two looks are similar in that a white button-up blouse is paired with a long skirt to stand out, which is super fun. I really like this look because it’s different than the rest! Zendaya’s full Valentino look stunned viewers by not only wearing something untraditional, but a cropped look at that. I think if anyone can pull it off, it’s her! I enjoy seeing this side of Zendaya, as does everyone else, since on-screen she’s typically styled more casual in hoodies and sweats.

6. Sofia Carson

The only difference between Sofia Carson and an actual Disney princess is Sofia Carson was wearing black, but otherwise I couldn’t tell a difference! This was one of my favorites because it’s simple with the plain black, yet unique in the tulle detail and Cinderella style of it. This Giambattista Valli gown is incredibly stunning and fit her entire look so well.

I enjoyed watching the red carpet this year and loved to see how creative the different stylists and artists can be. It’s a long process to decide what gown to put someone in, because of the amount of pressure that comes with it. Over 15 million people watch the Oscars, so celebrities truly dress to impress! It’s easy to see celebrities as just a famous person, but at the end of the day, they’re people just like us, and they get nervous too. I mean, I can’t imagine the pressure of walking a red carpet in front of actors I’m a huge fan of and hundreds of paparazzi and reporters! Props to them! As always thank you for reading! I hope you’ve enjoyed my favorite looks of the night at the Academy Awards. Please share with me your favorite looks on social media, I love you all.
