Sofia Richie: Looks for Less
If you don’t know who Sophia Richie is… have you been living under a rock in 2023?? Just kidding.. kind of…
For those who don’t know who she is, I’ll give you a brief rundown. First off, Sofia Richie (Grainge) is the daughter of award-winning singer/songwriter Lionel Richie. As if that wasn’t cool enough, she is also the little sister of “The Simple Life” star and early 2000’s icon Nicole Richie.
But what sparked this sudden public interest in her? After a dating history that included A-Listers like Justin Bieber and Scott Disick, Sofia decided to settle down with music executive Elliot Grainge. The pair tied the knot in a beautiful, luxurious wedding in the south of France. What caught people’s eye wasn’t necessarily the gorgeous venue or the star-studded ceremony, but it was Richie’s distinct wardrobe. In the past few years, her style has evolved from LA party girl to elegant glamor - and the internet is obsessed.
Richie has become the poster child for the “quiet luxury” trend. Her style embodies simplicity, class, and timelessness. However, the “luxury” part of “quiet luxury” implies that her style is not cheap. In fact, Sofia donned not one, not two, but three custom Chanel dresses at her wedding. I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t sound like she buys her clothes on Amazon like me.
However, because Richie’s style is all about simplicity, it is actually pretty easy for us “regular people” to recreate her looks without breaking the bank or looking like we just went shopping on Canal Street. Whatever your budget is, here is how you can achieve that timeless, elegant look that Richie has championed.

As you can see, Sofia uses simple pieces that are carefully curated to form her timeless looks. She wears a lot of monochromatic outfits and neutrals with small pops of color. Below, you will find some of Richie’s most iconic outfits and how you can recreate them at home. I scoured the internet to find some affordable, yet still high-quality style swaps that are much more budget-friendly than the pieces Sofia has on. All of these items are linked on my LTK or Amazon Storefront. Just click on the style swap photo or the link below them to find out more about these items.

This first look is perfect for any type of summer gathering where you want to be comfortable. If your area experiences awful heat and humidity in the summer as we do in Atlanta, this breezy dress is a great way to combat the conditions. Also, can we talk about how these Amazon glasses are an exact dupe of the real ones?? Extra bonus: they’re only $12. In fact, everything in this lookalike outfit is under $50. #Amazonforthewin

Sofia Richie agrees that can never go wrong with a little black dress. I love how she drew attention to the dress by opting for a slicked-back hairstyle, which can also be a great mom hairstyle when you don’t have time to wash your hair. Although most of us won’t be hitting the red carpet anytime soon, this look would be perfect for a wedding or even a work event.

This monochromatic look may be my favorite. It’s timeless and elegant, and so easy to recreate. She elevates what would be a super casual t-shirt and cargo pants outfit with a heeled boot and a fabulous trench coat. I love the amount of monochromatic looks that we are seeing as a part of this “quiet luxury” trend because they automatically make you look more put-together.

I love this look because chances are, you most likely have some of these items already in your closet. Just grab some loose jeans (That’s right, we no longer have to be constrained by tight-fitting skinny jeans), and a good sweater. This outfit stands out because of her accessories, so make sure you pair it with a stellar purse and chic sunglasses.
Of all the trends that have been popular recently, this “quiet luxury” trend is one that I can actually get behind. In the midst of chaotic mom life, simplicity is GREAT, so the trend of wearing these simple pieces is one I can easily implement in my wardrobe. Also, unlike a lot of styles that have been popular recently (i’m looking at you, crop tops), this trend is mom-appropriate, but still very cool. If you try out any of these looks, please message me or leave a comment and tell me how it turned out. Happy shopping!
