Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas For Every Occasion This Year
Can you believe it’s already Thanksgiving? You read that right – Thanksgiving. I know all big stores love to skip over this holiday to get to Christmas, but I can’t possibly forget about it that easily! Here, the Thanksgiving dressing isn’t all about the delicious warm side in a casserole dish, but it’s also about your outfit and the way you decide to dress literally! With that being said, I will be sharing a few of my favorite Thanksgiving fashion outfits and trends that you can participate in this turkey day.
First, we need to consider what type of event you will be attending to celebrate Thanksgiving. Your outfit depends on the level of comfort you’re going for at the event!
Friendsgiving Celebration
The joys of Friendsgiving and fall weather fashion truly go hand in hand. This term was actually first used in the hit TV show “Friends” as they were celebrating holidays with their friends. Now, we see it used everywhere and you may even be invited to one or host one yourself! If you’re hosting a celebration of “Friendsgiving”, these tips will apply to you: make sure there is plenty of room and plenty of food. You would hate for the one day a year to celebrate being thankful for your friends to run out of dinner!
Now to get into fashion, specifically the fall weather fashion, it’s all about comfort when it comes to Friendsgiving. These are some of your closest friends coming together in a home (typically), so make sure you are comfortable. This especially applies if you will be the one to cook a dish and set up the party. It wouldn’t be comfortable to move chairs into the dining room as you’re wearing tall heels! So what are a few outfit options to tap into for fall weather fashion?
Layers for days.
One trend that arguably will never go away is layering. How much is too much when it comes to layers? That’s definitely subjective to the person wearing it, and the climate you’re in for this Thanksgiving. However, a simple long-sleeved shirt can be dressed up with essentially anything over the top of it. Pair your favorite basic long-sleeve with a cute V-neck dress over top. Another option you might go for to layer up for your Thanksgiving fashion moment is adding a casual blazer over your chosen top. If you’re expecting to host guests or be inside, this could be a great option for you due to the change in temperature. It may be cool outside, but inside, around people, you might be feeling the warmth. It’s best to be able to take off a layer and still feel stylish! Atlanta fashion revolves around this idea. With the cool weather coming into Georgia, it’s essential to layer up this Thanksgiving, regardless of the event!
Sports Event:
Since we are in the south, I know sporting events might be a huge thing you’re going to this Thanksgiving. Whether you’re attending a big rivalry game like the Iron Bowl, or your favorite local team’s youth flag football game, you can fit in with a few Thanksgiving fashion, specifically Atlanta fashion trends.
The Denim Jacket
Denim has been back and better than ever the past few years. This trend is something we have seen time and time again, and it continues to prove to us all why it’s a great option. There aren’t many things that you can keep warm and casual in, while simultaneously feeling put-together. A denim jacket is the perfect Thanksgiving fashion statement for you if you’re attending any outdoor event that might be on the more “casual” side. Pair it with a pair of your favorite leggings, sneakers, and hat and you’ll be good to go!
Classic Family Get-together.
It may seem extra, but dressing up on Thanksgiving is one of my favorite parts of the day. Yes, maybe the only activity you’re doing is sitting on the living room couch with your grandparents. However, you can still make this a fun time and take great family photos showing off your Atlanta fashion while you’re at it!
A perfect fall weather fashion look is a cozy sweater, comfortable jeans, and your favorite boots or sneakers. As mentioned, layering is the best option, so try to wear something under the sweater so you won’t get too warm with the hot oven and crowded kitchen. One of the easiest go-to looks you can pull off is finding a cute dress! It’s a simple way to fit in with the Thanksgiving fashion trends, because it’s only one piece of clothing you have to think of. Whether you have a puff sleeved dress, or a high-neck long sleeve, you can rock the simple look this Thanksgiving. Atlanta fashion trends vary season by season but one remains constant: repetition. So if you have an outfit you absolutely loved from 5 years ago, hold on to it because maybe in a few years you’ll notice the Thanksgiving fashion trends to match perfectly with what’s in your closet. That’s the best part of fashion, it all comes full circle eventually, it just takes time and the right people to start it!
