the most target-y time of the year

Well, it's here, y'all. It's the most wonderful time of the year. And by that, I mean, it's the time of year where John and I almost get thrown in Target jail for essentially looking sketchy AF, as we complete our annual 30 and 30 Stocking Stuffer Challenge.

In case you missed it last year, here's how it works:  Go to your local Target, give each other 30 minutes on the clock and $30 cash, scream GO as loudly as you can (startle some innocent bystanders in the process), and fill the other's Christmas stocking like a freaking boss.

Since we've been doing this for quite a few years, I have a couple pro tips for you:

Document on instastories, because as we all know, if you don't put it on stories, it did not really happen. Also, PLEASE use #30and30, because it will greatly over-inflate my sense of self-importance, and that is fun for all. Especially my husband.

Remember the amount you spend on your spouse's stocking directly correlates to how much you love them. No need to hit $30 directly on the nose, because $50 is basically the same as $30 in Christmas dollars. (JOHN.)

Remember that should your spouse decide to grossly overspend slightly tweak the spending limit, it just means she loves you more than you love her. And comments about how you managed to fill her stocking with only $20 are not welcome.

Try not to run into each other. This will be impossible, so when you DO run into each other, make sure you've put the things you're buying yourself UNDER the gifts you're purchasing for your spouse.

Finally, prepare to trash talk and become super competitive about which one of you created the best stocking.

No? Just us?

In honor of this tradition, and also possibly to gently guide my husband into making the right choices, here are a few of my favorite stocking stuffers. I wouldn't be mad at any of 'em.

Until next time,
