Welcome to RATMJ

Hi friends! Welcome to Rage Against the Mom Jean, which is somehow both a style blog AND a mom blog. Because this is the internet, and I can DO WHAT I WANT. 

I've spent the last 4 years as a stylist and fashion blogger for Edit By Lauren Wardrobe Styling, basically making a career out of my obsession for boots and love of Nordstrom.  (Ain't nobody better at the Anniversary Sale than me, y'all.)

Let's start out with some honesty: I don't usually look like this. I mean, there ARE times when I get dressed in REAL PEOPLE CLOTHES. And then there are also times when I cannot be in clothing that's not 1000% stretch.  When I DO get dressed, I'll show y'all.  And when I don't, well, let's all pretend that I did, m'kay?

Here's what I've learned about moms, from my time spent styling them, to my time spent reading their hilarious mom blogs: 

We want to slay, fashion-wise and parenting-wise. I'll help you with the fashion part, and I'll share all my mistakes on parenting (so you can know what NOT to do).

We want to LAUGH.  Because parenting is FREAKING HARD. And kids are CRAZY. Basically they make us facepalm on the regular. And we're going to laugh about that. A LOT. 

We want to be REAL. Again, parenting is FREAKING HARD. And if you're all, what are you talking about Sherri? I LOVE being a mom EVERY MAGICAL MINUTE....well, then, bless your sweet little heart.  Clearly you are the parent of a newborn. 

We want to be more than a pair of mom jeans.  Or yoga pants.  We still have hopes, and dreams, and they most likely don't include wearing a miniskirt to the park.  

(Realistically, they include a foot rub and a netflix binge. Let's be for real here.)

I hope you guys will join me as I launch RATMJ....tell yo friends, tell yo wife. (But, really. Tell them.)
